Vedic Hindu Scientific Research Methodologyवैदिक हिन्दू वैज्ञानिक अनुसन्धान विधि
The foundation of Indian research methodology was laid by Maharshi Akṣapāda Gautama, author of the Nyāya Sūtras (6th century BCE). These sutras established systematic principles of investigation that remain relevant even today.
These methodologies were not merely philosophical but actively applied in Ayurveda, medicine, and life sciences.
Pratyakṣa (प्रत्यक्ष) – Perception
Direct knowledge obtained through sensory and mental perception.
Anumāna (अनुमान) – Inference
Knowledge derived through logical reasoning, observation, experimentation, and elimination of contradictions.
Upamāna (उपमान) – Comparison
Understanding through analogy and comparative recognition.
Āptavākya (आप्तवाक्य) – Authoritative Testimony
Knowledge derived from authentic scriptures, sages, and validated scholarly sources.
